A Granddaughter’s Determination
Ruth
To help support her family, Ruth often rode her motorbike around town with her grandmother to sell kampong eggs.
One day, they visited our home, which also serves as the base for the Beautiful Garden.
We learned that Ruth was raised by her grandmother after her parents’ divorce.
Soon, we began sponsoring her school fees and tutoring.
Ruth studied hard and earned a spot at one of the top universities in North Sumatra.
A Quiet Smile, A Strong Spirit
Mauri
Mauri was introduced to us by a schoolteacher. During his first interview, his constant smiling made us worry he might have a cognitive issue.
But we soon discovered Mauri was intelligent and diligent. Raised by a single mother, he faced many challenges.
When Mauri’s mother passed away in Aceh, we drove over 10 hours overnight to bring him and his siblings back for the funeral.
Our support helped heal the family—so much so that Mauri’s estranged father later reconciled with the children.
A Star Ready to Shine
Siti
Siti is bright, well-mannered, and talented. Poverty once forced her to quit school, putting her future at risk.
But God loves her and led us to her.
Through the sponsorship program, Siti returned to school and excelled—not only academically but also in dance.
Her school dance team, led by her, even represented North Sumatra in a competition in Jakarta!
From Insecurity to Inspiration

Lisa is Siti’s best friend. When she first joined our centre, she often compared herself to others and felt inadequate.
Thanks to the love and encouragement of volunteer tutors, Lisa slowly overcame her insecurities.
She has since graduated from high school and is working. Despite her modest salary, she generously donates part of it each month to support other student in the program.
Lisa is naturally gifted in media and communications. She’s now pursuing a degree in Mass Communication.
